As the weather is rather cold at the moment I think it is a good time to have a little chat about the different temperatures and how it makes us feel.
It´s cold. It´s very cold. It´s freezing. I want to sit by my radiator
Cold. I´m going to put on my jumper because I can feel my body getting cold.
Very cold. Let´s put on the central heating, I´m shivering.
Freezing. The temperature is minus four degrees, I can´t feel my finger tips. I´m going to put on my gloves, boots, three jerseys, a coat hat and thermal underwear.
There is snow in Ireland at the moment. The roads are dangerous to drive on. The schools are closed. The children are building snowmen and playing snowball fights.
The Irish people pay a lot of money for to heat their houses, offices, universities etc (etcetera)
Frost. There is frost on the car. The weather prediction for this week is; frosty weather to be expected in areas.
Ice. There is a lot of frost/ice on the windows. It is difficult to see through them.
Alerts. Ice on the road. Drive carefully the roads are icy and dangerous. Drive slowly
Take care of elderly people, they can´t move about so well when they are cold.
Candles and torches. The electricity might be cut of due to snow on cables. Use torches and candles.
Blankets & duvets. Wrap up warm in plenty of bed clothes while sleeping as your body temperature will decrease.
